Belford's savannah seafood and steaks customer reviews

We had such a good lunch here today. We were able to sit on their patio and enjoy the beautiful weather. All the meals were wonderful except one dish the Shrimp and Grits which was just ok. The Crab soup was simply amazing! It’s a little pricey $81 for 2 people but the food and service was worth it. We will come here again.

My husband and I stumbled across Belford’s after touring the American Prohibition Museum. This restaurant is in a great location between Franklin and Ellis Square just down from City Market. We stopped in around 1:00 PM on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded but I’d recommend making reservations if you want to make sure you get a table. We were able to catch the tail end of bottomless mimosas. Our waitress, Autumn was great. She made sure our mimosas were in fact bottomless and gave great menu recommendations. I had the steak and mushroom pot pie which was delicious. The braised beef had a lot of flavor and was extremely tender. Along with the beef was carrots, peas, and mashed potatoes, all topped with a puff pastry in a hot ramekin. Delicious!!!! My husband had the steak sandwich which was also delicious. Chef Bobby stopped by our table and we told him how phenomenal everything was. He specifically asked if we liked crab cakes and I told him we were crab cake snobs and only order those in Maryland. He was up for the challenge and served us a complimentary crab cake. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It was filled with lump crabmeat and just enough filler to hold the cake together perfectly. It’s served with spiced tomato jam and charred poblano lime aioli which complimented the crabcake nicely.

Hands down the best bread pudding I've ever had! Loved the Fried Green Tomatoes and Calamari. Perfectly cooked scallops! The filet was a true medium rare and the braised short ribs were delicious!

Our first afternoon of vacation in Savannah and we chose this spot to stop in for dinner and drinks. We got right in, as walk-ins and Amanda was our server. She made the experience simply amazing- by making recommendations and she is a true sweetheart! Our food was lovely and the cocktails as well. We would recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area. We walked the blocks and visited the riverfront. This was the best start to our vacation and we can't thank Amanda enough for her hospitality and small talk while we visited.

This was an unplanned stop on our cousins trip but they were able to accommodate the 14 of us. J'Velle advised us he was not able to seat all of us at one table, since it was last minute but would be able to seat us at 4 separate tables, which we were grateful for. Our server was Amanda who was very attentive and kind. J'Velle checked on us and introduced the Executive Chef and the Owner to our group, who were all very pleasant! To top the experience off, the food was amazing! Please do yourself a favor and dine here if you visit or live in Savannah. I will be back! The food, the ambience, the hospitality were all excellent!

Our party of four had a multi-course dining experience at Belford’s during a recent visit to Savannah. We enjoyed sampling the creative cocktails and overall, the food was well-executed. Of the smoked halibut dip and calamari appetizers, the calamari were a fan favorite. Our selected entrees included the short ribs, the Faroe Island salmon, and the lobster gnocchi. We were a bit puzzled by the gnocchi presentation-the gnocchi were warm at best, and the lobster was served in the shell on top of the gnocchi, making the dish difficult to navigate without a bib! For dessert, we had the bread pudding (B), and the chocolate mousse (B). A Savannah enigma is the notable absence of decaf coffee throughout the city, and Belford’s was no exception. Some comments on the service. Our server came across as perfunctory and did not seem “invested” in our experience. She struggled to provide vinous insights and we resorted to going to the bar ourselves after waiting over 20 minutes for the promised consultant to arrive tableside. The service pace was slow and lacked the polish and attention one would anticipate at an establishment in this price point. Given the wide array and number of epicurean options in Savannah, Belford’s is serviceable, but not outstanding.

Amazing. The best we had in Savannah. We did lunch with the bottomless mimosas. We did the crab cake 10/10 no filler.. The she crab soup was great. We did calamari which was out of this world good. Lots of love and flavor in the food. The bartenders and staff are top notch. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent seafood restaurant and the staff were very friendly. We had the fish and chips and crab cakes. The crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had. If you like seafood things yeh best restaurant in the city market area.

Disappointed in the drinks, food, and charge. Service was the only reason I gave a two not a one-star rating. The vodka martini was over charged and weak with vodka, all ice. The so called 18 oz Ribeye was more like a 10 oz steak, and they charged extra because we asked to split a dish - only serving the same but giving us two plates to separate ourselves. Don't waste your money or time there.

Not even sure where to start. Bar service weak. Wife ordered the highly touted fish special only to be told they didn’t have anything available except salmon after we ordered. Filet was anything but a filet. Largely inedible and chewy. Deserts were literally thrown together and the cream brûlée (the easiest of easiest) was powdered and inedible. I mean if this is their A game on a Friday night would hate to see a Monday. Ribeye price was $95. Seriously? Save your time and effort and walk 5 blocks to Ruth’s Cris.
