The location is great and the room is good but the bathroom is impossible. This review is about Room 20 and may not apply to all other rooms. The bathroom is tiny - think airplane or cruise cabin size. There was mildew throughout the tub/shower. Large American adults would not fit in the bathtub or in the toilet area. The room itself was large. The walls are actually upholstered, the beautiful draperies are blackout lined. Busy area but noise was never a problem. Very good linens and comfortable bed. Room was very clean. Breakfast is typical continental - fresh orange juice is nice. Pleasant staff. There is an elevator but you will need to go up flight of a narrow spiral staircase, even if you use the elevator because it starts up half a flight and stops between floors.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We love the location- lots of life in the area. Our room was on the front of the hotel and looked out on to a nice view. The room was very spacious by Paris standards with a sitting room. Getting to it required going in a small lift or up the tight staircase but the hotel staff helped with the luggage. The shower was pretty small and a bit slippery- would have appreciated a rubber mat.

If you cannot afford the Lutetia, and who can, this is a great choice to stay on the Left Bank. Atop the excellent Le Comptoir du Relais, itself an excellent restaurant, the rooms - we took one of the several "junior suites" - are comfortable. The hotel is well-run and incredibly convenient: the Odeon metro is virtually next door and buses run everywhere from stops nearby.

Room was not sufficiently clean. I don’t really do bad reviews, but there are better options, and it’s not like a room is cheap here. Paid for a superior room. Checked out within 2 hours of checking in. I just can’t get comfortable in a room that provided me with 2 stained pillow cases, a stained towel, and a rug that looks like someone ate breakfast daily above and never got vacuumed. Literally crumbs and dust all over. I mean can you at least replace paper coasters that you put the face down glasses over if they’ve been wet. Room felt dated and overpriced anyways. Front desk employee was delightful, so I’ll leave 2/5. Location is good too. They refunded me for 1 of the 3 nights and I checked in to a hotel w/ 5 stars on TA. Spotless and worth it — not ruining my vacation in a dirty dusty room.

We had a very charming superior room at the top of the hotel. Really well decorated and it had a charming little terrace which was a lovely surprise! It felt like a bedroom in someone’s home rather than a hotel room. Bed, pillows and sheets were all quality and very comfy. Friendly and efficient staff. Location is top notch right in the heart of St Germain, with very buzzy atmosphere as soon as you leave the hotel. Downsides - minor things like the lift is very small, and it really is a small boutique hotel! Breakfast was OK but not great, but nice to be included in the rate.
