I stayed in this hotel one night. I reserved a double room with a private bathroom/shower through Chase Travel. They gave me a room with a shared bathroom/shower. They did not refund me the extra money I had paid for the room with a private bathroom.

Very nice hotel. Great location. The room was clean and the bathroom was lovely with a good shower. I had a single bed but it was very comfortable. The manager happily provided me with an extra pillow. The stairs are tough with luggage but that can't be helped!

When booking a room at this hotel, keep in mind that: - Mice have free access to the rooms and can be seen scouring the garbage and hiding under the beds. - The staff is not prepared to help, they do not offer another room so either you sleep with rats (this seems acceptable in this hotel) or you must leave - Contacting Booking.com also does not work since "we're unable to pass your concerns over to the accommodation". - Talking to the manager is difficult and without any empathy, making it clear that the customer should be aware of the possibility of the rooms having rats, since the hotel is in front of a channel, which is not reasonably acceptable. - Ah, get ready to, in addition to not having any support in this situation, to be mistreated and leave the hotel thinking it's your fault. Do yourself a favor: look for a decent hotel or try to negotiate a room without mice, if any.

Location is good, staff are friendly but the hotel is the worst I’ve ever stayed in. We booked a double room but were given a twin bedroom in the basement and told to move the following day. The noise is unbearable, you’d get a better nights sleep in the bus stop outside. The pillows are either rock hard or non existent and look like they’re about 100 years old. As we paid over £250 a night to stay here, it feels like daylight robbery. Awful, would not recommend.

We paid £401 for three nights, the same late-rate as many 4 star hotels, only to discover Hotel ITC Amsterdam is hostel type accommodation. Our tiny room was on the fifth floor of an annexe where the stairs were dangerously steep and laundry bags blocked the landing. Being in the eighth month of pregnancy, we requested a change of room but were only offered an alternative on the 4th floor or in the basement. Management were unavailable so we had to return later and were then offered a three bed room but for a hefty supplement, which was not acceptable, given the poor standard of accommodation. We again requested a refund to move hotels but were refused. A man was asleep in reception clutching a can of beer. On the final night, we changed to a different hotel, without a refund from ITC, thus doubling the cost of our stay. I have never encountered such intransigence from staff and would caution anyone expecting facilities which match the excessive prices charged to look elsewhere.
