The cafe on lumpkin customer reviews

While I would typically give this restaurant a 4; I took my youngest daughter to afternoon tea on Sunday at 2pm (had a reservation all week). You pay at the window as always, we were seated in the sunny window and served our 2 pots of tea about 10 minutes later. We were checked in once after when she picked up the reserved sign and our 2 dirty knives-which were never replaced. By 2:52 and no town of goodies or any explanation I went looking for staff. When we were seated there were only 2 other tables seated-they were not busy! I was then told the kitchen was behind and it should be out soon. No apologies, no price refund, nothing. Our food was finally served 57 minutes after arrival, we did get an apology then. No knives to butter the scones though, empty tea pots from sitting for an hour and not offered water-had to ask for it. An absolute disappointment in what was to be a special mommy daughter date. Oh, and that sunny, bare window with a half dozen flies got really hot after an hour. Darn near the worst service I ever received.

had a larger party, and we literally had to get up to ask for waters around the table after waiting an hour. no one served us properly (i’m assuming because 20% gratuity is already included) and we had to get up multiple times just to ask for any service at all (such as milk and sugar for teas when already requested). we were not checked on once the whole time to make sure all was well. they most certainly did not deserve the gratuity and i would say food was much overpriced for what we got for low tea. i would try to find a new place, especially for larger parties. food wasn’t too good either as we mainly just enjoyed the finger sandwich which were given scarcely.

I hosted a baby shower here yesterday. I was so happy with everything. I live in Savannah, I expected coordinating everything from a distance to be difficult. It was not. They were so helpful and communicated wonderfully. Emily was a fantastic server and worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. From changing orders to getting us an extra table, I was very impressed with her. The food was fantastic and beautiful. Everyone there was so complimentary of how well it went. THANK YOU

My new FAVORITE breakfast place in Athens!! Adorable outdoor seating (you can bring your dogs!!), perfect food, amazing teas, creative chefs! So healthy and fresh and super-friendly servers! The chef made a smiley face out of bacon on my toast 😂 ..makes me want to buy a house right behind this cafe to eat here every day! The homemade GRANOLA is SO GOOD! Highly recommend the Paris tea!

The Cafe on Lumpkin and their courteous staff provided a delicious meal in a delightful atmosphere! Starting with a VERY nice cup of coffee (custom blended exclusively for The Cafe by a local roaster) we then enjoyed the BALT sandwich, Caprese Sandwich and followed-up with the most amazing home made scones, lemon curd and clotted milk. A visit to The Cafe is ALWAYS a special treat, but if you have the chance to visit while the fall colors are on display, you are in for some incredibly brilliant color! The Cafe owner and his adorable family live on site and you can find Luke working at the register or visiting with patrons! They carefully designed every detail of this unique eatery from the recipes and specially blended teas all the way down to the custom fragrance of the hand soap in the cutest/cleanest restroom! I love sitting outside and enjoying all of the lovely plants and taking in the locals going by walking their dogs while enjoying the delicious fresh foods! Absolutely charming!! Keep up the good work!
