Winterpark mtn lodge customer reviews

I was a little skeptical about staying here after reading the reviews. I'm happy I took a chance because my room was great. I stayed in one of the suites that had a fireplace, mini refrigerator, microwave, and mini ice machine. The room was well worth it. The room was clean, and the fireplace helped keep the room warm. I also had a great view of the mountains. The bed was also comfortable. Even though, the furniture and decor is somewhat old. They also had a ski rental shop inside the hotel, which was good. I was able to rent snow boots and get any other ski gear at a discounted price. There was also a bus stop at the front door entrance of the hotel, which was free to ride. The bus would take you to the resort and/or other places you wished to go. Another plus about this hotel was that Grand Adventures was also located on the property for those who would like to snowmobile. The only dislike about the hotel is the restaurant. The menu did not have a large variety of food to choose from. The restaurant was also out of alot of the food selection they had listed. Overall, this hotel was a great choice to stay and will not disappoint you!

The only thing this place has going forward is its prime location which is literally across the street from Winter Park Resort. This place was probably built in the early 80s and all of the decor furniture everything is original from the early '80s. It looks like they Place hasn't been renovated ever so the place is like 40 years old inside. It's kind of a joke considering how much the place costs. Do yourself a huge favor and try to get one of the airbnbs close to the resort, they are immensely nicer and actually cost less.

This place is exactly what folks should expect of a ski town hotel. I think previous reviews about cleanliness were either way exaggerated or the hotel has gotten it together. It's outdated, for sure, but the only time it's expensive is on prime ski weekends and it's right across from the resort. The staff was great. The rooms were clean. And for anyone who is interested more in being on the mountain than turn-down service will likely be very content. On price point - it's expensive to live here and pay people to live here so it's a little expensive to run hotels here and they have like 2 months to make the majority of their income to make those improvements everyone thinks are so desperately needed. I am reserving my 5th star for a warmer pool and another blanket on the beds (there wasn't one in the closet, but also never went down to the front and asked for an extra).

Nice location from winter park ski resort, they have free shuttle every 20 minutes from the lodge to the ski lift. We stayed there between Christmas and new year. Our room was clean has a very nice view on the mountains. TV didn't work and restaurant was closed for 2 nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Wp mountain lodge.

This hotel is a real disappointment in many categories. When we arrived the room had crumbs all over the floor. I asked to have it vacuumed. Never happened. Went back & asked if I could borrow the vacuum. Eventually someone brought a filthy vacuum to our room, which I used & immediately regretted. The chairs in the room are tattered. Our window didn't shut properly. The hotel is directly across the street from the ski resort, but there is a major highway between them & no way for pedestrian across. The shuttle only runs every 30 minutes & isn't direct. The toilet seat & toilet paper holders were broken. The lobby was nice. The shower was nice. The double hot tubs & pool were nice. The room was filthy. It was very cost effective, but I now understand why. I would not stay here again.

The facility itself was not great. The location to the mountain was good. Although I had multiple complaints that's I won't list out, the staff was great...

We went here for our friend's sons wedding. The rooms are outdated and have a smell. Some of the other rooms the shower and AC didn't even work in them. The curtain was half off the rod in our room, the sheets are not even fitted sheets and the blankets are paper thin. I would definitely NOT recommend them for a wedding venue. The spot where you get married is cute but not for the price they charge. They don't even help with the music of walking down the aisle or keep things moving along, they just let you try to figure that all out for yourself. Then don't even try to confuse them with a food allergy for anyone's meal! The Grandmother of the Groom cannot have any spices on her meat and the Couple let them know that ahead of the wedding but they still didn't put one without any spices on it and kept trying to get her to eat the chicken instead of the steak she wanted. Then the Manager came and was arguing with the Father of the Groom about it. For the price you pay they do not pay attention to detail at all! The front desk staff and Steve the bartender are great!

The rooms are getting to be a little out of date, bathroom is small but functional (not for more than 1 person), our bed was very uncomfy so it was a long two nights there in a very uncomfy bed. Having A/C is nice and all the staff working for the wedding that we went there for were fantastic (friendly, helpful), they deserve a great acknowledgment!

This hotel is a couple miles away from the heart of Winter Park, but close to the ski areas (but we went in June so that didn't help). It was an older hotel, but only showed wear and tear around the door edges, etc. They had a nice lounge area on the second floor. There is a restaurant attached, but we went back into town to find a place to eat. It says "mountain view" but our room looked out towards some woods and a railroad track. You might want to ask for a room that faces the mountains if that's important to you. The desk clerk was very helpful and very friendly.

The location is a little off the highway however it was a convenient location that was on the free shuttle into Winter Park. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and the restaurant/bar food was great too. The only thing that let this down was the cleanliness of the room. There was still rubbish from previous guests on the floor. The room furniture and bathroom should be upgraded. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

You need to know that the photos on the website are considerably outdated. The hotel is run down. When we arrived to our room there was a pile of dirty dishes right outside our door. Inside the room seemed fine, but when we went to bed after skiing all day, we discovered that the bottom sheet was not fully covering the bed and it didn’t fit well so we had to sleep partially on the mattress which was very uncomfortable. Furthermore, only one hot tub worked and it was scalding hot, and the pool was freezing. On the up side, there was a bus to take you to the bottom of the mountain for skiing.
