AppSumo was once a fantastic platform with a strong vision, but unfortunately, its quality and integrity seem to have declined. Increasingly, companies are shifting from offering lifetime deals to forcing users onto monthly subscriptions (e.g., Uteach). Even worse, some apps on the platform are outright scams, providing tools that simply don’t work. Uteach, in particular, has taken a disappointing turn, coercing users into monthly plans and delivering subpar customer support. Despite user complaints, AppSumo's response has been lackluster, with generic replies—often AI-generated—that make it feel like they don't truly care about their customers' concerns. To add to the frustration, they continue bombarding users with 2-3 marketing emails daily. On the Uteach product page, AppSumo claims to be addressing the situation. However, as of now no tangible action has been taken. Many of us relied on Uteach as a critical foundation for our businesses—whether for blogging, quizzes, or courses—and this sudden shift has left us stranded. Sadly, it feels like AppSumo prioritizes revenue over customer protection. If you encounter issues or get scammed, don’t expect meaningful support. Proceed with caution.

Got a lifetime deal from AppSumo in 2020 - for the media library of Freshstock (DesignPickle) which was supposed to last a lifetime. Unfortunately, after 3.5 years, DesignPickle have removed our access, saying that we now need to pay $600++ per month to access, because their system no longer supports "Freshstock" only accounts. AppSumo refused to do anything at all, and was even very sarcastic in their email responses. My only advice, please avoid getting anything at all from AppSumo if you do not want complications. What's the point of selling lifetime access if you do not mean it? Just sell it at $x for 3.5 years. Will anyone buy it then, I wonder?

I love AppSumo! I love the products they offer, the emails they write (these are actually emails I want to read) and especially the customer service (cheers Candice). Every problem I ever had has been immediately resolved with 100% obligingness and to my satisfaction. Brilliant people and good taste of humor. Keep up the good work!

As support has become a lost art-form these days for many businesses, I had to leave a comment when excellent support DOES happen so others can know that the folks at AppSumo actually care about their customers (just as much as my agency does). Highly recommend them and their offerings!

I love the idea of lifetime access to apps. And they find some really great ones. Most important is the refund policy which gives me time to check out the different apps. Their service is spot on. And i recommend upgrading to the premium plan (whatever they call it). It's worth the yearly premium. For our digital marketing clients, I am always finding something useful too.
