Hotel telegraph, singapore customer reviews

It is such a shame that this hotel has such a bad damp issue. We stayed there in January and had to change rooms due to the mould smell. The lovely staff showed me at least 15-20 other rooms that all smelled the same. I suffer from asthma and I couldn't sleep in the rooms. After being shown all the rooms, I asked if there was another level of room I could see, and I was shown the heritage room in another wing of the hotel. Walking into this wing was like breathing completely different air. Much better and I was happy to pay the extra AUD $90 per night to be able to breathe freely. Something should be done about the smell. I feel sorry for the staff who must hear this all the time from the guests. This hotel has everything going for it - fantastic location, wonderful staff and the rooms are beautiful. This is a potentially dangerous environment for people to sleep in who have a respiratory condition. I told the staff this when I was there. I would for sure stay there again but in the Heritage wing.

Our primary reason to select Telegraph was the location. It is brilliantly situated in the heart of Singapore. Stations of 3 different MRT lines are inside 250m from the hotel. Chinatown about 5 minutes walk. Really good food market across the street. The swimming pool at 6th floor with a fantastic view to the city offers a cooling for the heat. In the room the bed is really good and extra points from really good pillows. The breakfast is a bit pricy, but it is also offers limited but ok tastes to start the day. Coffee is bad. Staff is really friendly and helpful. The room is a bit moist, but it would be a surprise if it would not be with a temperature above 30 and humidity above 80%. Maybe the AC does not have the capacity to handle that or drying feature not working. Not a big deal for us. New dry towels were delivered every day. AC keeps the room nice and cool. And otherwise the room is comfortable. Our 3rd floor "Hip wing" room was not the biggest, but there was more than enough space for 2 people with luggage.

Hotel decor and facilities are great. Breakfast is varied and there is something to suit all tastes. Rooftop pool is awesome 🤩. There is something seriously wrong with the buildings air conditioning or ventilation, the room felt and smelt damp. Seen a lot of similar posts. What did make up for it was the amazing staff, the service sand the free cocktails and canapés at 5pm. (Look out for luxury escapes deals). Location is fantastic right next door to the hawker stalls and a short walk to the metro and Marina Bay Sands.

I'm reposting my review, which was previously removed. Given that other reviews continue to mention unresolved issues with dampness and mold, I feel it's important to share my experience again. We stayed in a deluxe room for three nights. As soon as we entered, we felt dampness and a musty odor. Because the windows couldn't be opened, we had to spend the night in this moldy-smelling room. The next day, we changed rooms. The new room smelled better, but it still felt very damp, and the bed linens felt wet, which was very uncomfortable. The room's humidity was so bad that when we measured it with a hygrometer, it read 97%. This reading was taken right after I returned from being outside for several hours, and by that time, we hadn't used the shower room. There was no dehumidifier, and the air conditioner didn't have a dehumidifying feature. Also, the room was cold even without the air conditioner because cold air from the hallway entered through gaps in the door. If this were a cheap hotel, we might understand, but Hotel Telegraph is a five-star hotel. We didn't think the quality matched the price at all. The positives were that the hotel was conveniently close to Satay Street and the MRT stations.

My boyfriend and I suffer from the damp and mold in this hotel. We cannot even breathe properly because of the humidity in the room. We got rashes and allergy from the bedsheets. When we were asking the staff to change the room it was all the same! As a result, the staff gave us humidifier. It was 80% shown on humidifier that the room is very very humid! Feels like it was kind of scam that the pictures shown in website comparing to the real one. Dirty chairs, clogged toilet, the furnitures are decaying. If you have asthma, allergy or sensitive to the mold. Stay away!! It's not 5 star hotel.
