I liked the service at the Local cafe, and it's nice that students have the opportunity to study and serve there as well. I think that students try very hard and get the necessary experience. They are always smiling and in a good mood. The food is excellent; mainly, I like quiche with rosemary and herbs. The Local is one of the few places that does not skimp on ingredients. I will recommend this cafe to my friends and relatives. Keep it up.

We went here for dinner and we made reservations. It tends to get busy. Lots of students eat here. It’s casual and it’s located in the Centennial College on Progress. They seat you and ask if you want a drink. I ordered a sangria for $6. The buffet is limited. There was pasta that they heat for you, sheppard a pie, vegetable stir fry. There is salad but the rest of the food they serve you. There was cookies, a cake and a mousse for desert. The restaurant had about 12 students working there. The food was basic. It’s a casual dining atmosphere.

We are booked into the BW close by and wanted lunch before checking in. We found the Local Cafe and what a find. The staff who are students of Centennial College did an excellent job helping to cook and prepare the food, serve the buffet line and wait the tables. All the students were cheerful, happy to serve and very attentive. The food today had lots of local ingredients , great presentation and lots of choices. The Ahi tuna was of excellent quality and the Cafe is part of the Ocean Wise program. They also have beer, cider, mock cocktails and wine We talked to the teacher as well as the head chef and they are so proud of their students and rightfully so. This is a hidden gem! Delightful lunch!

As a long-term ex-pat of the UAE now living in Qatar I can safely say The Local brunch is a top contender in terms of hospitality and extremely affordable given the mission of this incubator for learning. The taste and quality of ingredients stand out and the food choices, while smaller and far more sustainable than an average selection size for a Dubai/Doha brunch given a lesser amount of guests than your average hotel, are excellent. This pescetarian was very happy with the vegetarian options and the salmon was perfect. Very child-friendly brunch - the small waffles were a big favorite of my two children under 6. The frittata was fabulous. I only wish I had more room for the gluten-free cookie in their cafe. You also can donate to help provide scholarship funding for new students. We cannot wait to go again! Thank you Vinny and Gurdeep for great service!
