The company I work with, Ivester Jackson/Christie’s International Real Estate, had our retreat here. The hotel and staff are exceptional. The beauty of the location is unmatched. For such a historic location it is in fantastic shape. My room was in the main/original building. It was clean and well accommodated. Not only would I visit again, I tell others they should plan a visit. Restaurants and room service were impeccable. I did not plan far enough ahead to get to use the spa, but will absolutely do that next time!

I have never stayed at the hotel, but I visit every time I am in Asheville. It's magical. From the moment you pull up and see the incredible and unique architecture you know this is a special place. The giant fireplaces and the cozy lobby with bar is the spot. Watch the sunset on the back terrace, get a massage in the world famous spa and shop unique gift items in their "mall". It's a must visit!

Came for the restaurant people rave about. The staff were super efficient and nice. The food just ok. My first bite had hair (black, curly hair so not my straight, light brown) no fault of the staff I'm sure, as this is a buffet and that's unfortunately part of the price. Other people's hygiene! The dishes were nothing special and all the fish dry, I'm sure due to the fact it needed to be made well done for health standards and to insure nothing unhealthy grew while in the heat trays. I'm not an oyster girl so didn't eat any, though I got a good laugh when my son spit his out 😂 he didn't like the texture. Lobster was kinda chewy and seemed off to me. Desserts were super cute and super sweet. Lucky they were small so I didn't waste much. The "sugar free" ones not so good. Whatever they used to sweeten them didn't sit well on my tongue. I got some whiskey drink with a dehydrated orange slice, pretty good. I'd enjoy coming back to explore the grounds and their spa! The buildings for them look fun!

We stopped by and got a hot chocolate which my daughter said was the best one she ever had. We shared a cocktail and watched the sunset. Between parking, two hot chocolates and one cocktail, we spent $100. But, the sunset and views were magical. It’s definitely worth checking out.

We are local and haven't been to the Gove Park since it sold several years ago and started charging for parking. Before that, it felt like a part of the community where locals could visit, dine, and take visitors. Recently, we met out of town friends here. It was a staggering $30 to park. All the inside shops were closed for inventory. It is a wonderful place, but it is no longer a welcoming place for locals.
