Whoopers

There is nothing below 1 star otherwise the property deserved minus ratings. I have attached only a few pictures from the room we had got . The place needs deep cleaning. The staff is very lazy to do anything . When we entered the room it was as if it wasn’t even broomed. Floors were dirty, fan was dirty, just two dim bulbs in the room, spider webs around and very public toilet kind of a dingy dirty bathroom. It was raining there and water kept entering our room from the balcony as well as the corridor . We were worried about our luggage getting wet . They didn’t have a chef for 2 days out of the 6 days we had to stay there . The property is quite away from Kasol main market, don’t confuse it with the other Whoopers they have at Kasol market like us. They don’t really organise anything at the hostel to maintain the hostel vibe . Only while giving any convenience they will say that it is a hostel and they can’t help us . For example they didn’t allow food in the room saying that it’s a hostel and it has rules and it might get dirty in the room. How would they expect us to dirty the already existing dirty room. They didn’t have a cook at the property for more than 2 days and there is literally nothing around the property which seems good enough to go and eat.. we had to catch a bus and go till the main market to get food which is not an easy task as u have to wait a lot . Cabs are expensive to take each time for the market .. takes around 300-400 one way. You have to walk around 1-1.5 kms if you don’t want to go to the market for decent food. They charge you extra for heaters and towels apparently. All in all a horrible experience for 2700+ for one night. I don’t know how are they running this place and is every other Whoopers hostel like this . I have stayed with hosteller and Zostel (other hostel chains) in Himachal only and they were sooo good as hostels.. Clean and entertaining and mostly cheaper than this . Whoopers highly dissapointed us. Worst stay in Himachal in 45 days long trip .

It's a pretty cool property centred on GoT theme. The common area ie a nice place to chill and meet new folks. The hostel managers were pretty helpful and friendly (shoutout to Ketki)! The only con is the location- it's not in main Kasol so accessibility can be an issue.

My girlfriend and me had booked a room seeing the pictures Bellow but the room dint look anything like the pictures and it was stinking and unhygienic ,we had booked the room for 2nights but the stink was Soo bad that we couldn't even stay there for a single night .please do not book the place without seeing it in person coz clearly looks can be deciving .the price is also high as compared to other places aroun and every hotel/hostel has a good location in kasol so don't worry about that .

The rooms smelled of food, socks, urine and a lot more. The full place is very very dirty. Very smoky and smelly. Also the place looks absolutely nothing like what is shows in pictures. Pls go there , see it for yourself and then book. Do not book in advance. All other hostels have a way better view, better hygiene and facilities. Pls look at The white House kasol- it's superb!

Whoopers hostel Kasol is around 2-2.5km away from main Kasol. The main hostel is a short walk from a Shani Mandir on the main road, it is difficult to carry trolley suitcases along that stretch, backpacks are ideal. But the walk to the hostel is beautiful, walking along and crossing the Parvati river. The hostel building is quite small, with some 3-4 rooms on the ground floor and a upper floor with a lounging area, games, tent area and bonfire. The main lounge area with the GoT concept is amazing and very photogenic. We stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm, the room was big, beds were fine, bathroom was clean, there was hot water, but our main issue was the tiled floor... cold tiles in the winter was very difficult to live in. Heaters were available for extra charge. The hostel kitchen serves up some good food and great coffee!! To sum up, its a great place for backpackers and solo travellers as it's easy to socialize and make friends there. Extra tip: Walk from the hostel to main Kasol town instead of taking a vehicle. The walk is fun and beautiful along the Parvati river.
